
The Saint-Nazaire-en-Royans aqueduct, 35 m high and 235 m long, is the emblem of the city. Built between 1873 and 1876, it conducts water via the Bourne canal (which is along the start of the hike) to irrigate the plains of Valencia. In 1878, the work was presented at the Exposition Universelle in Paris as a work of art in hydraulic engineering.Read more
