Museum Paul Bédu

19th and 20th century collection of paintings and sculptures
Temporary exhibitions
Passionnate about art and collector, Paul Bédu was a rich heir of a local family.
He spent his life collecting art works until his death in 1977.
In 1990, his widow, Gabrielle Lagarde decided to bequeath his art collection, to the village of Miully-la-Forêt, to honor her husbands memory.
She funded the works to transform the former boys school into the cultural center Paul Bédu. Inaugurated on june 24th 2000, the center displays the collection and hosts temporary exhibitions throug the year.
Amongst the collection, one can find “La Viegre à l’enfant”, a number of artworks by Marie Laurencin, and a famous painting “et le soleil s’endormit sur l’Adriatique”, by the mysterious Joachim Raphaël Boronali.
The center also owns more contemporary artworks by Jean Cocteau and Niki de Saint Phalle

From 01/04 to 30/09, every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday between 2 pm and 6 pm. Closed exceptionally on May 1st. From 01/10 to 30/03, every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday between 2 pm and 5 pm.
