The common oven

You pass the mill, which has now been converted into a gîte, and then arrive at the communal oven.
The communal oven dates back to the feudal organization, one had to pay the banality, a kind of tithe to use it. In masonry houses it was easier to have a private oven, in a wooden house it was less risky to use the common oven.
