Halte ferroviaire Martigues / Croix-Sainte

You can take line 7 which connects Miramas to Marseille. This line runs along the entire Côte Bleue from Martigues to Estaque.
Line modernization work: no train will run on the Marseille-Miramas axis until April 25, 2021.
With the "Train de la Côte Bleue" you will discover a panoramic route in the heart of the protected creeks and enjoy a bird's eye view of the big blue and its turquoise waters.

Swimming on the magnificent beaches of La Couronne and Carro and tourist discoveries are on the agenda.

This spectacular route was created in 1882, with its 18 viaducts, 4 of which bear the 20th century heritage label, 7 stations, 8 stops, 2 bridges and 23 tunnels.

From Croix-Sainte station, take the greenway towards the city center and visit the tourist sites of Martigues. You have two options:
- Join the sports course of Croix-Sainte from the Vallon du Pauvre Homme to the avenue Urdy Milou then follow the edge of the canal via the greenway to the Halle de Martigues.
- Continue straight on at Vallon du Pauvre Homme (Intermarché, Aldi) towards the A55 viaduct. Pass under the bridge and continue straight to the city center (45 minutes on foot).

The essentials to visit in the city center of Martigues: the Calen (one of the last in France), the statues of the fisherman and the mender, the Mirror of the Birds (classified), the statues of Bourvil and Fernandel (the film "La Cuisine au Beurre" was filmed in Martigues), the monument "La maison en Chapeau de gendarme", the lift bridge in Martigues.

You can cross the three districts of the city center by sea shuttle (all year round, operates continuously from morning to evening) or by small electric train (during Zone B school holidays and in the summer season). Both public transport are free.
