The parish church was the former chapel of the castle of Saint-Geniez. It was enlarged in the 15th c.
Too small to accommodate people in the 16th and 17th c., the bourgeoisie decided to enlarge it again, in 1658.
The building site started in 1698. People from each neighbourhood participated voluntarily in the work under the direction of Jean Parate, the architect, who is one of the publicists of the classical style in France.
The sober architecture is opposed to the richness of the reredos and particularly the high altar, an example of 18th c. Baroque Art. In the choir, you can see Saint Geniès in Glory.
