Description

Welcome to our Japanese family ecolodge!

Come and immerse yourself in a change of scenery and feel the wabisabi atmosphere of our guest rooms, surrounded by warm materials. Enjoy our Japanese table d'hôte with refined home cooking using organic and local produce, as well as a wide range of à la carte workshops (Japanese cookery workshops, kimono dressing, wool and dye plant workshops, etc.). We'll be delighted to talk to you about Japanese culture, arts and crafts, ecology and permaculture, the three main pillars of our place.

Our first guest room, "Tsuru no Ma", is a traditional 6 tatami mat room where you can sleep as a couple or a family in the Japanese style, on a tatami mat area with modern futons, for an experience as close as possible to that of traditional Japanese ryokans or minshukus. Smell the delicate aroma of the tatami mats, relax in the warm, subdued atmosphere of your room with its washi paper Shoji window and admire the beauty of the Tsuru, the Japanese cranes painted on a magnificent Kakejiku.

Our second room, "Takasago no Ma", opened in March 2023 and is slightly larger than its neighbour "Tsuru no Ma". We wanted to create it along the same aesthetic lines, while retaining the principles of eco-renovation that are close to our hearts, such as whitewashing the walls with clay from our own land and using old, recycled wood found locally.
At the same time, you can enjoy slightly different services: "Takasago no Ma" offers a small space for a more intimate setting, with its coffee table made from local cherry wood and its zabuton cushions.
Between workshops to discover Japan, artists' residencies, festivals, exhibitions, shows and concerts, craft workshops based on the transformation of local and natural materials (wool, dye plants), we are keen to create a local dynamic, to encourage the transmission of knowledge and to help our visitors discover ecological alternatives, the common thread that connects all our activities.
