In the Zorn valley, between Lutzelbourg and Dabo, near the hamlet of Sparsbrod, lies the Schacheneck valley. It is squeezed between steep slopes, covered with coniferous forests. This place, shrouded in mystery, is the site of the former village of Fischbach, destroyed in 1633 during the Thirty Years' War, of which the chapel was probably the church. The remains of the chapel with its 10th century pink stone baptistery are believed to be the oldest remains of Christianity in the region. Below the chapel is a spring, which is said to have medicinal properties. It is said to cure children's illnesses, sore throats, skin problems and scabies.
How to get there: from the D98C after Sparsbrod in the direction of Dabo, follow the rue Saint-Fridolin in the direction of "Etang du Fischbach" and continue straight on.
