Excavations were carried out from 1967 to 1993 on the site of a former medieval castle. Archaeologists uncovered several levels of sarcophagi, particularly in the vicinity of the priory's chevet.
Part of the necropolis does not seem to predate the 12th century, but a series of tombs dates from the Merovingian period. The sarcophagi are of various directions and structures, some monolithic, others made up of several fitted stones, even bearing traces of reuse.
The site also features a Gallic rampart, an 11th- and 12th-century Merovingian necropolis, a medieval priory dating from the 9th to 18th centuries, the ruins of a 12th-century feudal castle, a 12th-century medieval necropolis and an artisanal facility (bread oven, lime kiln).
