In the south of the Lot-et-Garonne between Nérac and Moncrabeau, the Peyroutet hillside is well known to naturalists who consider it one of the most remarkable orchid sites in the region. Among the 30 plant species observed on these 15 hectares between the valley and the hillsides of the Osse, there are 28 orchids, some of which are protected.
In addition to its fauna and flora, the Orchids of the Albret hillsides site is of cultural and historical interest: here passes the "Henri IV's path" which comes, it is said, straight from Pau.
This natural heritage can be discovered during a free visit of the hillside (inform the owner before moving - no panel on the spot) or during a guided visit by the Conservatoire d'espaces naturels, manager of this remarkable natural space, within the framework of the festival of the nature.
