Description
The refuge is located in the heart of the Pyrenees National Park, in the upper Ossau valley, at the foot of the south-east face of the Pic du Midi d'Ossau, between pastoral and high mountains.

the refuge of Pombie is the classic starting point for the ascent of the Pic du Midi d'Ossau by its normal way, as well as many climbing routes and ridge races. This accommodation is located on the crossing of the Pyrenees (HRP), it also serves as a stage on the tour of the pic du midi d'Ossau as well as on the variant of the GR10. The guards, very attentive to the welcome of mountaineers and hikers will make you taste a quality cuisine.

Nearest car parks
Departure 1: on the D 934, road to the Col du Pourtalet, pass the hamlet of Gabas and leave the car at the bend of Soques (1333 m), the refuge is about 2h00 on foot.Departure 2: continue 4 km after the bend of Soques (1333 m) to reach the car park of Anéou (1700 m), the refuge is about 1h30 walk.In summer you can also access the Bious Artigues dam and take the path that leads to the Suzon pass and then easily to the refuge; 2h walk.
