The Col de la Croix du Bonhomme is a historic passage, at the crossroads of Beaufortain, Val-Montjoie and the valley of the glaciers. The refuge of the same name offers hikers a very appreciable comfort, and a magnificent panorama.
The refuge is located at 2443m, at the crossroads (the Croix du Bonhomme) of the TMB, GR 5 and Tour du Beaufortain trails, south of the Mont Blanc massif, facing the Beaufortain and the Vanoise. The view is very open, from the Haute Maurienne to the Chartreuse. It is accessible from four slopes, and also allows you to reach the Robert Blanc refuge by the high-altitude path that passes by the Tête Nord des Fours and goes around the Tête de Bellaval and Mont Tondu. We welcome both seasoned hikers and families who wish to immerse themselves in our Savoyard mountains, and a first experience in a refuge.
