In the heart of the Mont Blanc massif, located above the Tour glacier, the Albert 1er refuge is a mountaineer's refuge, but not only! Accessible without glacial material, it can be the goal of a family hike from the resort of the village of Le Tour.
Its location is ideal with views of a wide range of peaks. The refuge is one of the gateways to mountaineering in the Mont Blanc Massif: Aiguille du Tour, Grande Fourche, Chardonnet, Aiguille d'Argentière, the Verte and the Drus, the Aiguilles Rouges. You can also enjoy ski touring and ski mountaineering in this high mountain glacial environment. Its name is due to the King of the Belgians, Albert 1st, a mountaineer who killed himself while climbing near Namur.
