Château comtal

The château, of classical medieval construction, was home to the seigneury of Ternier, whose jurisdiction extended over the Genevois region. The château Comtal was separated from La Poype by a mound and two ditches.
Partly built on two levels, it was composed of various buildings: stables, granaries, wine presses, garrison accommodation, bedrooms and Count's garden, kitchens, chapel... Like La Poype, it served as a residence for the Counts of Geneva and later the Dukes of Savoy.
