Memorial to the Dutch poet Marie Adrien Perk

Marie Adrien Perk is born in Delft in 1834, and he was a pastor in Dordrecht and in Breda in the Netherlands. He did write the first touristic guide of the Ardennes in Dutch. This distinguished man of letters was filled with admiration for the town of La Roche and he endeavoured bringing its natural beauties to the attention of the public. His son, Jaak Perk made several stays in La Roche, and he dedicated several of his poems to the town. It is propably thanks to them that the region gats so many Dutch visitors
