
The octagonal Chapel of the Immaculate Conception, also known as the Chapel of Our Lady of Lourdes, is a religious building located in Magoster, a hamlet in the commune of Rendeux, in the province of Luxembourg, Belgium. Built in 1900, the chapel is distinguished by its octagonal sandstone rubble architecture, resting on a bevelled base. Its slate roof is topped by a polygonal bell tower topped with a cross. The building was restored in 1972, preserving its original character and ensuring its long-term survival.Situated at an altitude of 329 metres, the chapel stands at a crossroads in the hamlet of Magoster, providing a notable landmark in the local landscape.Before the amalgamation of the communes in 1977, Magoster was part of the commune of Beffe. The hamlet is characterised by its sandstone farmhouses, typical of Ardennes architecture, and is surrounded by lush green meadows. In addition to the chapel of the Immaculate Conception, another chapel dedicated to Saint Joseph, built in 1901 and restored in 2003, is located between Magoster and Beffe, on the right bank of the Isbelle.The Chapel of the Immaculate Conception is a remarkable example of the local religious heritage, reflecting the history and traditions of the region. It is a place of meditation for locals and visitors alike, and forms part of the picturesque setting of the Coeur de l'Ardenne.
