Former monastery of the Cordeliers

Housed in a modern building, the 17th-century portal at number 12 is a vestige
of the convent of the Frères Mineurs or Cordeliers.
These monks arrived in Toul in 1271. They followed the rules of St. Francis of Assisi.
The door is surrounded by two niches featuring pilasters with Ionic capitals, a circular pediment and a globe.
