Located in the heart of the village, La Cure is a new cultural hub, offering visitors the chance to discover the commune's heritage through a program of exhibitions, a mountain library and as a starting point for heritage itineraries.
In 2026, the exhibition Ange Abrate, painter of the peaks will occupy the first floor of La Cure.
Angelo Abrate (1900-1985), known as Ange Abrate, is one of the great figures of mountain painting, whose works are preserved by the municipality of Saint-Gervais. Thanks to the loan of a rich collection of paintings by this mountaineer painter, originally from Turin, who lived in Chamonix and then in Sallanches from 1933 onwards, this exhibition traces the artistic career of this self-taught artist.
The second floor houses a small interpretation center for the works of Father Kim en Joong, designer of the contemporary stained-glass windows in the Saint-Gervais church;
A library features mountain books from the Maurice Lenoir collection. Access by appointment only.
Guided tours, creative workshops for families and lectures are offered during school vacations or on request throughout the year.
For families, games and booklets are available at reception to help you discover the exhibition in a fun and entertaining way. Don't hesitate to ask for them!
