Description
An idea for a stroll in Parthenay: the discovery of the Old wash house
From the rue Grande, a small path joins the banks of the Thouet after about thirty meters.
You can see the trays on which the washerwomen beat their cloths. These trays were raised according to the water level, by means of a system of gears located at one end of the building.
Come and enjoy this quiet, peaceful place and admire this testimony of ancient times.
