Gers lake refuge
Description
We welcome you to the heart of the Grand Massif, in a green setting. The restaurant is open all day, and 3 rooms in summer / 4 rooms in winter. Reservations strongly recommended in high season.
Our team will be delighted to welcome you for a drink, a meal or an overnight stay. We offer rooms sleeping from 3 to 7, each with its own private bathroom. Open summer and winter, you can join us for a summer hike, snowshoeing or ski touring, or ski the cascade trail.
Enjoy a break in the peace and quiet of the Combe de Gers, by the lake. With its abundant flora and fauna, this is an ideal place to recharge your batteries. Mountain lake fishing enthusiasts can tease out the trout, while others relax on the terrace.
In autumn, the stag roar brings the summer season to a close...

Location complements
Winter: 🚩 Accessibility of the refuge: snowshoeing / ski touring / Alpine skiing via Combe de Gers + Magic Forest OR Waterfall trail but plan to come on foot between the trackers' hut and the refuge (10 minutes). Closest village or station: Samoëns and Sixt Fer à Cheval Walking time from the nearest car park "Pont de Ledédian": 2 hours walk Access possible by path, with a bat donkey, by mountain bike, 4x4, quad, endurot motorbike (summer) with snowshoes, cross-country and alpine ski (winter). Coach parking at Lededian parking lot.
Sustainable tourism
Committed to an eco-responsible approach, the establishment combines several solutions to limit its environmental impact while offering comfort and quality. Electricity is generated by photovoltaic panels, water is treated by a high-performance plant, and heating relies on natural gas, which is more respectful than other fossil fuels. When it comes to food, local produce is chosen to complement the on-site vegetable garden, while composting reduces and recycles organic waste.
Conditions of access for motorized vehicles
Access via the Lededian parking lot on the Route des Saix, or the parking lot at the bottom of the Cascades trail in Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval.
Tips
On the GR96, from Samoëns to Samance (Lake Annecy), and approaching the GR5, the Refuge du Lac de Gers welcomes you in a magnificent setting full of abundant flora and fauna. The hike is accessible from the Ledian car park in Samoëns, located halfway through Samoëns 1600. Accessible in winter via the Combe de Gers.
