Frêne commun
Description
Le frêne commun apprécie les endroits frais et ombragés. Il pousse fréquemment le long des cours d’eau. Mais en montagne, il est par excellence l’arbre des bocages. Pour certains, son nom viendrait du grec phraxis, qui signifie haie. Ici, dans le vallon du Tourond il colonise les pentes les moins entretenues. Ses rameaux opposés se terminent par de gros bourgeons très noirs. Ses fleurs apparaissent avant ses feuilles et donneront des samares, tourbillonnantes à l’automne.
