Description
Il fait partie des plus beaux papillons diurnes que l'on puisse rencontrer en montagne et son comportement plutôt calme permet une observation facile. Il est lié à ces végétaux que l'on qualifie de «chameaux», que sont joubarbes et orpins poussant dans les lieux secs. Sur ces plantes hôtes, il dépose ses œufs afin que les larves qui en seront issues s'en nourrissent.
