The Théâtre du Peuple de Bussang is a unique place of creation in France which was born in 1895 from a humanist and artistic utopia. For 130 years, this atypical theater has kept alive the ideal of its founder, Maurice Pottecher, summed up by the motto "Through art, for humanity" inscribed on the stage pediment. Classified as a Historic Monument, this theater whose back stage opens onto the forest offers a highlight every summer bringing together two major shows from the classical and contemporary repertoire, one of which has mixed, since its creation, professional and amateur actors. Workshops, play courses, educational activities, shows inside and outside the walls, hosting artistic residencies and guided tours take place throughout the year. Guided tours are offered every Sunday at 10:30 a.m. and on weekdays during school holidays. Without reservation, check the visit schedule before your visit: theatredupeuple.com/infos-pratiques-et-services/visites. The exterior site is freely accessible. The park and the buildings are definitely worth a detour! During summer performances, a carpooling module (free and without registration) is offered to facilitate your visit to Bussang: www.theatredupeuple.com/infos-pratiques/covoiturage
