Après la Seconde Guerre Mondiale, Jean Guitton achète cette bâtisse, auprès de laquelle il construit une chapelle baptisée « La Pensée », en référence à Blaise Pascal, et qu’il inaugure le 16 juillet 1971 en présence de l’évêque et de l’académicien Maurice Druon.
