L'arbre de la LIBERTE (the tree of FREEDOM): a meaningful word, because carved out during the Occupation, it became a rallying point, like a symbol, for the children of La Pouyade, where all those who had gone underground to escape the STO (Service du Travail Obligatoire) actually gathered.
