Châteauponsac, located north of Limoges, has a “Station verte” eco-label. It is an old fortified city overlooking the rivers Semme and Gartempe, with beautiful panoramas to admire from atop a rocky spur. Châteauponsac is nicknamed « Pearl of the Gartempe ». Be sure to visit the town’s René Baubérot ethnographic museum dedicated to daily life in Limousin. The museum is family-friendly. Our Tourist Office also invites visitors to discover the other towns in the Châteauponsac area: Balledant, Rancon, Roussac, Saint-Amand-Magnazeix, Saint-Pardoux and Saint-Symphorien-sur-Couze.
