Marina

Marina

Description

A "port de plaisance" is a port that's a pleasure - my definition - in short, a marina. And the Saint-Victor marina is one where you'll certainly find it a pleasure to be. How could you not - nature as far as the eye can see, boats lined up like in a picture and a sandy beach. A little haven, Loire-style.
If you've had enough green, try some blue.
There's nothing simpler, just head off to the Port de Saint-Victor-sur-Loire (it's 2 minutes if your satnav behaves itself and doesn't start saying things like "at the roundabout, turn back".).
You'll find 300 boats at the marina all looking out for some tourists to impress.
True, there's not much hope of spotting the Reborn (you know, Bernard Tapie's famous yacht, the one worth €44m), but even so there are plenty of fine specimens to admire, with sails or motors. And I think that one at the end with the big mast might be for sale.
Otherwise, the other way of getting onto the water is in a canoe (though that will involve rowing - straight if possible) or you could try a paddle board - now, that involves standing up!). To each his own.
That said, there's no obligation to get wet and you can just as easily take the contemplative option and concentrate on the breathtaking countryside. Sunglasses, sand in the near vicinity, a cocktail and you've made it! Life's good, ain't it?
