Les Masques

In the heart of the charming village of Fontevraud-l'Abbaye, stay in an authentic 16thᵉ century tufa house, a former hotel located in the picturesque Rue des Masques, a small pedestrian street full of character. From the gîte, you can easily walk to the village's restaurants, shops and emblematic sites, including the famous Royal Abbey of Fontevraud.

This large, charming 140 m² house can sleep up to 6 people. The décor combines antiques and vintage items, creating a warm atmosphere full of personality. On the ground floor, you'll find a large entrance hall leading to a convivial living room with a fireplace and dining area. From here, there is access to a small private courtyard with an iron table and chairs. The separate kitchen is equipped with hob, oven, small dishwasher, 140-litre fridge and filter coffee maker. On the 1st floor: a bedroom with 1 x 150 cm bed, a WC with washbasin and a bathroom with vanity unit, bath and shower. On the 2ᵉ floor: a bedroom with 1 140 cm double bed and a large bedroom with 2 80 cm twin beds with its own private shower room with shower and washbasin.

The gîte is ideally located for exploring the riches of the Loire Valley. The banks of the Loire are just 4 km away and the magnificent village of Montsoreau, listed as one of the most beautiful villages in France, is nearby with its Château de Montsoreau - Musée d'Art Contemporain. You can also take advantage of your stay to explore the vineyards of Anjou and Saumur or visit Saumur and its famous Château de Saumur.

In Fontevraud, don't miss a visit to the abbey, the largest monastic city from the Middle Ages and a UNESCO World Heritage site. The village also offers a rich cultural programme, as well as the Musée d'Art Moderne de Fontevraud and its many works of art.
