THE BIG AND ROUND "HOLY ROCKS"

THE BIG AND ROUND "HOLY ROCKS"

Description

At the top of Mount Facho, west of the Hermitage of San Guillerme and 787 feet above sea level, we find the "Pedras Santas" (Holy Rocks), two large, almost round, granite rocks, sculpted over the years by the wind, rain and saltpeter of the Atlantic Ocean in Cape Finisterre.

Benjamín Trillo, the local chronicler, was the discoverer, some years ago, of the location of those "two large and almost round rocks" that, as described by Erich Lassota back in 1581 “cannot be removed, not even with several pairs of oxen, but can be moved with a finger, a fact I myself checked".

Benjamín Trillo tells us how he discovered the "Holy Rocks".
