Old sailing boats used to have a small construction on deck where the galley was fitted. On schooners, it was usually to the rear of the foremast, although on the Carmen Flores it was to the rear of the mainmast.
It was a very small space, which barely brought together minimum cooking conditions.
The door opened towards the bow, which meant that the wind always kept it closed.
With the aim of making life onboard easier for the Santa Eulalia crew, the galley has been fitted with the most usual modern appliances: gas cooker, microwave oven, fridge...
