Named after the restoration of the Portuguese crown after 60 years under a Spanish king, this square has a central obelisk, erected in 1886, at its center to commemorate the event. The square is surrounded by interesting buildings including the 18th century palace ” Palácio Foz”.
You can see on your left the monumental Neo-Manueline architecture of the Rossio Trains Station. Here, starts Liberty avenue, the main avenue of the city.
