The hidden treasure of the Taurus Mountains: Sagalassos

Sagalassos ,a candidate to the World Heritage List, is one of the best-preserved ancient cities of Turkey. It is spread over terraces on the mountain slopes with breathtaking views.

The site is well-equipped with information boards and walking routes and it is open every day throughout the year. It can be best visited from March until November. Allow at least 2 hours for a visit. Best period to visit is March till November.

The Museum of Burdur and its unique collection deserve to be on your to-do list as well.

Sagalassos is located in Ağlasun, a green oasis with cool breezes and fresh natural springs.

Visitors can explore walking and trekking routes in an unspoiled landscape, enjoy local cuisine, and join locals to experience farm life with fruit picking or milking cows!

How to get there, where to stay?

Ağlasun is easy to reach in a day trip from Antalya, Isparta, Burdur, or Eğirdir.

In town, a charming eco-hotel, camp site, and homestays with local families are available. Student pensions of the local college are also available for rent during summer.
