House, 23 rue des Tanneurs

House, 23 rue des Tanneurs

Description

Built in the 16th century from bonded limestone, certain elements of this elegant two and a half-storey building constructed on a base wall have been restored. The house is distinctive for the evenness of its three bays. Formerly casements, with the exception of in the attic, the windows have retained their ogee lintels and the lintel that originally adorned the transom of the gate. A limestone ledge on moulded corbels supports a pitched roof. The rear façade of whitewashed brick, is partly hidden by a projection housing a staircase from the 18th century, as well as adjoining structures.

Building listed on 5th September
