Islington has a fantastically rich heritage. People, places and events are commemorated throughout the borough using blue plaques from English Heritage, green plaques from Islington Council and a variety of private plaques. Every year the Islington People's Plaques scheme sees more people, places and events commemorated with plaques by public vote.
The Islington Plaques iBeaken Walk is a great way to take in 13 of these plaques and the stories behind them. An iBeaken has been added for each plaque so that anyone using a smart device can have access to pictures, sound bites and clips about the people, places and events commemorated. Each iBeaken also has walk directions.
If you are starting this walk from the Islington Museum and Local History Centre come out of the building and turn left up St John Street.
