(Tap the image to enlarge.) George Cruikshank, born in 1792, was at one point one of England’s most popular satirists. Cruikshank created social caricatures of English life for popular publications. Later, he focused more on political prints, often attacking the royal family and leading politicians with his biting satire. Cruikshank satirized all England's political parties equally – Tories, Whigs and Radicals.
