Description


 

Late Antique Road Station „Anishte” is situated near the Roman road, connected the Ancient Raciaria with Naisus (today Serbian town Nish). There are a central representative building with a conch shape, surrounded by six pantries and a complex of bathrooms. Along with the vast number of bronze and copper coins from IV – V century there have been founded such from I – II century A.D.

A lot of fragments of building ceramics and pottery have been founded, which helps the process of documentation and dating of the site. There have been founded also bronze and iron artifacts, bronze applications, seals and jewelry.  Traces of burnings from the times of Goths and Huns invasions are everywhere. Actually these invasions put an end of existence of this late Antique settlement structure.
