Description

Conçu par l'architecte Auguste Perret, le Palais d'Iena est un des trois monuments subsistant de l'exposition universelle de 1937.

Bien qu'inachevé, le musée national des Travaux publics qu'il abrite est inauguré en mars 1939. Il faudra attendre 1943 pour sa belle rotonde soit terminée.

Le musée, peu fréquenté, est fermé en 1955. Il cède la place en 1956 à l'Assemblée de l'Union française avant de devenir trois ans plus tard le siège du Conseil économique et social, rebaptisé Conseil économique, social et environnemental en 2008.
