This couple of young girls, emerging from marble as from the original waves, glorifies the tenderness of sharing. These two bodies, embracing without touching each other, by a simple set of communicating curves and a narrow space sometimes virtually invisible – throughway for the play of light and shadow – give way to a subtle vibration.
Amongst the numerous pieces in different formats he left us – from a monument to a small ivory mask – ‘The Secret’ with its poetic grace is a good representation of this cultured and refined artist who was in love with idealism.
The hair and the draping of the cloth are a discrete evocation of Art Nouveau (in 'Les Musées royaux des Beaux-Arts de Belgique : Le guide des collections d'art ancien & d'art moderne', Brussels, RMFAB, 1996, p. 143)
