Description

Dès 1636, sous Louis XIII, existait à cet endroit un bassin, dit alors des Cygnes, que Louis XIV fit agrandir et orner du somptueux et célèbre ensemble en plomb doré représentant Apollon sur son char. L'œuvre de Turby, d'après un dessin de Le Brun, s'inspire de la légende d'Apollon, dieu du Soleil et emblème du Roi.
