Cette adorable place aux immeubles percés d'arcades, édifiée en 1912, porte le nom du souverain britannique, fils de la reine Victoria. Sa statue équestre, due à Paul Landowski (qui a aussi réalisé la statue de Sainte-Genevière au pont de la Tournelle), se dresse en son centre, face au théâtre du Edouard VII - Sacha-Guitry.
