The two magnificent towers that dominate the village and the remains of the walls that are still visible bear witness to the tumultuous past of the area in feudal times. The origins of the village remain obscure, but the settlement dates back at least to the Merovingian period (5th century).
The village developed throughout the Middle Ages, passing from hand to hand, from French to English lords and living to the rhythm of episodes in French history, such as the wars of religion. An ancient fortified town, Bruch has preserved some remains of the walls that once protected the village. Dating from the 13th century, the North Tower is one of the two former entrances to the village, it will surprise you with its unusual architecture. It combines the architectural style of the defence buildings with the refinement and elegance of the seigniorial constructions.
