Plage d'Erretegia

Erretegia beach is located near Bidart Center in a green and natural setting that extends over several hundred meters. This beach is also the starting point of the coastal path: the famous Basque Coast hike which stretches over 25km to Hendaye.
The Erretegia circus, classified as a Sensitive Natural Area, has been the subject of an innovative project combining a renaturation plan for the site and its adaptation to climate change. The work undertaken in 2019/2020 will allow the ocean to breathe with the creation of a larger and more natural interior beach, to give back space to the biodiversity, fauna and flora typical of this site.
The beach is supervised in July and August.
It is accessible on foot, about 250m from the parking lot (paying from June 15 to September 15), by bicycle via the Vélodyssée and by bus from the "Erretegia" stop.
