Description

Saint Etienne’s church is built in flamboyant Gothic style (1528 and 1531). The south portal is famous for its engraved lintel and its ornamentation. Delicate modillions support the archivolt. The Main altar tabernacle of 1676. On the walls of side chapels : coats of arms of noble families of the parish, traces of a “litre funéraire” (this was a black band painted or carved on the arms of a deceased important person). 12th Century baptismal font: lustral font surmounted by an octagonal monument, similar to a small retable or an over-large ciborium. It is made of black marble. Its base is supported by half-real and half-fantastic lion cubs.
