Description

Castelmoron is situated on the banks of the Lot and enjoys the benefits of the rich agricultural land, famous for its prune trees. The fortified town was built in the 13th century and, following several Anglo-French conflicts, became one of the area’s most important cities in the 16th century. Its irregular shape follows the geographical conditions (such as the waterways and hills) and encompasses an old town centre and several squares. The quality of the buildings is mixed, with certain areas like the Place Jules Calas displaying beautiful façades which combine wooden panelling and decorative brick and stone masonry. Explore the town at your leisure, or join one of the Tourist Office’s guid
