Villa Majorelle

Louis Majorelle—a cabinetmaker, metalworker, industrialist, and leading artist of the École de Nancy—was the first to commission the Parisian architect Henri Sauvage to build an Art Nouveau villa. This house is a veritable showcase of the École de Nancy’s architectural vocabulary! A must-see!

After extensive renovation work, the Villa Majorelle reopened its doors in February 2020. The meticulous restoration of the known original decorations and furnishings in the reception rooms and bedrooms invites visitors on a journey back in time and into the artist’s family life.

Open Wednesday through Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. for individual visitors; advance reservations are required on the website. (The first floor will be closed for renovations from October 28, 2026, through fall 2027.)
Guided tours for individual visitors every Saturday and Sunday at 11:00 a.m.
Free admission for visitors under 26 and students.

Admission tickets for self-guided tours can be purchased in person at the reception desks of the Musée de l’Ecole de Nancy, the Musée des Beaux-Arts, and the Villa Majorelle.
No online sales.
Outside of school breaks, please try to arrive at the Villa during the designated time slots (e.g., 2:15 p.m., 2:45 p.m., 3:15 p.m., etc.), as depending on visitor flow and capacity, we may be able to admit visitors outside of these slots
