THE NEMETACUM SITE

Description

Founded 2,000 years ago by the Romans, part of the ancient town of Nemetacum is now revealed to us. The archaeological remains are testimony to daily life in the capital of the Atrebates. At the intersection of the AmiensTournai and Cambrai-littoral roads, major routes through the town, one discovers the Schola des Dendrophores (the Gallo Roman woodworkers’ guild), built in the third century and uncovered during recent digs.
