The village of Barnich

Description

In about 1430, the first chapel was built by Jean d'Autel in Barnich. A rural monumental flight of steps led to this chapel (18th century), nowadays it still leads to the churchyard that surrounded the first chapel. Parts of the communal mills and ovens still exist in the village. If the fronts of the 17th century become rare, washhouses, calvaries and remarkable trees rise in a lot of streets in Autelbas-Barnich. (Original text by Office du Tourisme d’Arlon)
