The agglomeration is built on the southern slope of a wooded sandy hill, 433 metres high. The name Vrilingen (Freylange) is mentioned as early as 1237. The old houses of Lorraine style are built star-shaped around St-Paulin's church, rebuilt in 1708. From the "Loeserberg" hill that overlooks the village, a superb panorama towards Arlon and Stockem is enjoyed by the ramblers. The lover of unnatural should not forget, above all, the walk to the shelter under rocks, called "Hollfrasteen". For the rambler there's a sporting walk starting from the football ground. From the statue "Our Lady of the Homes" (1961) and the monument of the victims of Wolrd War II (1947), both erected near the church, the hiker may march across the "Beynert" wood as far as the villages Thiaumont and Metzert.(Original text by Office du Tourisme d’Arlon)
