This 3-hectare fort was built between 1888 and 1892. In 1914, it was the first fort to be bombarded by the 42-cm shells fired by the Big Bertha guns of the German Army. During the inter-war period, it was rearmed and was again bombarded in 1940. An association has purchased the site to ensure it is preserved. Some of the former military premises have been transformed into stables.
