





At the heart of the Maison du Parc naturel des Plaines de l’Escaut, L’Escale forestière is the perfect gateway to the Bon-Secours forest (1,000 hectares). The interpretation centre, Explor’forêt, gives you the keys to understanding the forest ecosystem through a playful and educational experience that changes every year – perfect for families!Discover the natural and cultural richness of the park in the film “Carnet de voyage”. Then set off on an adventure in La Pic’orée, a fun, topsy-turvy barefoot trail that will delight kids and adults alike. To finish your visit, enjoy a breathtaking walk among the treetops on the Promenoir des Cimes, an impressive walkway rising up to 16 metres high among oaks, ashes, and beeches.Several freely accessible walking areas offer a breath of fresh air after your visit: La Flânerie de la lisière, a 1 km loop adapted for pushchairs and people with reduced mobility, Two family-friendly forest walks of 4 km each.Need information about hiking routes? The visitor centre provides details about 500 km of marked trails for walkers, cyclists and horse riders, as well as natural and tourist highlights across the Plaines de l’Escaut Nature Park and the wider Wallonie Picarde region.
