In 1920, Alfred Dupont bought the Rimaux farm-brewery, founded in the middle of the 19th century. In no time at all, the company began to specialise in producing high fermentation beers. And in particular, the famous Moinette, one of the finest jewels in the Belgian brewing cellar, which we know is well stocked. While the Moinette has built the Brasserie Dupont’s reputation far beyond our borders, it is worth pointing out that it also produces a dozen other varieties, most of them produced using high fermentation, including five that have recently been certified as “organic”. They are all produced using traditional, natural methods. Refermentation in the bottle guarantees flavour and means that these beers will last. Time works its magic and allows the yeast to refine the drink. Keen to rediscover authentic flavours, the company also produces cheeses and breads. Good bread, good cheese and the Moinette. No problem, we’re in Belgium! A lovely place to explore... as part of a group.
